Robert Pattinson Denies 'Hunger Games' Rumors: I'm Not Up For a Role in 'Catching Fire'
Don't be expecting Edward Cullen to be dropping by Panem any time soon -- at least, according to Robert Pattinson.
While out at the Cannes Film Festival, the 26-year-old Twilight actor took the time to address recent rumors of him being offered for a role in The Hunger Games' highly anticipated sequel, Catching Fire. The film is currently scheduled to be released on November 22, 2013.
"I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games," he told USA Today. "I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent."
What was the response he got?
A flat out no.
"(My agent) was like no one's going to offer you that part," he reported, breaking into a laugh. "I was like, thanks for the reassurance."Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson may not be on his schedule in the near future, Pattinson will have his hand in wrapping up the Twilight franchise when its last installment, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2, hits theaters on November 16, 2012.
For now, the British actor is riding high after receiving rave reviews for his work in Cosmopolis, which made its debut in front of hundreds -- including his Twilight gal pal Kristen Stewart -- at the Cannes Film Festival this week.
“She looked on so proud,” a theatergoer told Celebuzz of Kristen's reaction during Rob's movie. “She let him have his moment with the cast before wrapping her arms around him and whispering something in his ear.”
