Queen Elizabeth’s Diamond Jubilee Count Down: Stars Who’ve Met the Queen (PHOTOS)
The ceremony to celebrate this momentous occasion is known as the Diamond Jubilee, which has much significance this time around since there has only been one other Diamond Jubilee celebration. In 1897, Queen Elizabeth’s great-great grandmother, Queen Victoria, had the honor of this achievement. While there are many perks to being the Queen, over the last 60 years, Prince William and Prince Harry‘s 86-year-old grandmother has had the opportunity to meet a whole slew of celebrities.
Who are some of the stars who have the pleasure of making her acquaintance?
From pop stars such as Madonna, Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga, to British stars including Twilight‘s Michael Sheen and Alice In Wonderland actress Helena Bonham Carter, check out the slew of stars who’ve had the honor of meeting the Queen by clicking through the gallery!
Also, be sure to take a look through some of the Queen’s many fashion statements through the years.
Prince William — the oldest son to the late Princess Diana and Prince Charles — recently told an ITV1 documentary journalist that he and his grandmother are getting along quite well lately. “We’re definitely a lot closer than we used to be. I think being a small boy it’s very daunting seeing the Queen around and not really quite knowing what to talk about or what to ask her.”
