An exclusive new trailer from the final installment of the Batman trilogy The Dark Knight Rises was unveiled during Sunday's telecast of the 2012 MTV Movie Awards. The clip had fans and critics alike at the edge of their seat in anticipation for the release of the summer blockbuster. The film's writer and director Christopher Nolan introduced the 90-second footage after an introduction from cast members Christian Bale, Gary Oldman, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Before the clip, scenes from all three of Nolan’s films featuring glimpses of the late Heath Ledger prompted Christan Bale to choke up over his late co-star.

"It’s great to remember Heath,” Bale said in a shaky voice.

What can you expect from this new MTV exclusive clip?

The preview provided a deeper look inside the action-packed film as well as much more dialogue between Joseph Gordon-Levitt's character, John Blake and Anne Hathaway who plays the fierce feline Catwoman.

The trailer ends with a chilling line from Anne that left the crowd cheering for more, “You should be afraid of him as I am,” she says.

The Dark Knight Rises hits theaters worldwide on July 20, click above to watch the new scenes.
