The bitter family feud between Teresa Giudice and Melissa Gorga came to a head Friday morning, when the Real Housewives of New Jersey stars made separate taped appearances on The View.

Giudice appeared on the couch first and quickly went on the offensive, accusing Gorga and Kathy Wakile, Teresa’s cousin, of joining the cast of the show behind her back.

For her part, Gorga denied Guidice’s allegations, saying, “It’s not true. [Giudice] uses that as a crutch.”

Giudice has not spoken to Gorga or Wakile since September 2011, after the ladies were all together filming last season’s reunion episode. As she told the hosts of the View, it was this lack of communication that propelled Giudice to ask View producers be interviewed Friday without Gorga or Wakile present.

“We have family issues that we need to resolve … There are things that we need to discuss and go over,” Giudice explained, concluding that she didn’t want to address said issues in “just a few minutes.”

“Here I am seeing, hearing what my family and my friends are saying about me,” she added, referring to watching episodes of the hit Bravo series. “It’s hurtful.”

“All of this drama is nonsense,” she added.

Meanwhile, even though she hasn’t spoken to Giudice in nearly a year, Wakile says she has been “trying to make the appropriate steps to reconcile” with her cousin.

Gorga says she’s also tried to reach out to her sister-in-law. In a recent interview with Celebuzz, she spoke candidly about the feud — which dates back to the day she married Giudice’s brother, Joe — admitting they could be civil together “as long as she takes my marriage out of the line of fire.”

UPDATE: Teresa’s rep tells Celebuzz:

“To be clear, Teresa Giudice was never informed at any time by her sister-in-law, cousin or brother that they were taking meetings to join the cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey until after they signed their deals. In fact, Teresa’s family members went through the quite lengthy process of joining the cast which included meeting with the producers, network and negotiating their contracts, all without Teresa’s knowledge. Teresa finally received a phone call from her producer and family only 2 days before filming was set to commence on season 4 with the surprising news that her brother, sister-in-law and cousin signed on to the cast of Housewives.”

The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs Sunday nights on Bravo.
