Speculation over The Hunger Games: Catching Fire casting continues as new reports claims producers have asked Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman to play Plutarch Heavensbee. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor, 44, would portray the pivotal role as the new Gamemaker at the Capitol after Seneca Crane (Wes Bentley) was killed at the end of The Hunger Games.

Reps for the Oscar-winning actor have yet to confirm the report.

The casting for the role of Finnick Odair has also been the subject of multiple speculative reports. The latest frontrunners, according to several publications, are Garrett Hedlund and Armie Hammer, but no final decisions has been made yet by the studio.

Catching Fire is scheduled to open in the U.S. on November 22, 2013 and will bring back Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth as Katniss Everdeen, Peeta Mellark and Gale Hawthorne respectively.
