In the issue on stands now, McConaughey, 42, opens up about being a newly minted married man, admitting, “[Camila and I] decided to embrace the ritual of marriage as an opportunity and adventure we’ll take together.”
The wedding itself — which was stretched over three days — was a traditional Catholic ceremony. The couple’s two children, Levi, 3, and Vida, 2, served as ring bearar and flower girl, respectively.
“Somehow they both seem to understand what we are doing on a spiritual level,” said Camila of her children.
The 120-person guest list included a number of famous faces — everyone from Reese Witherspoon to Woody Harrelson.
As previously reported, Alves, 29, wore a dress handmade by her favorite Brazilian designer, while McConaughey donned a three-piece tuxedo by Dolce & Gabana. The couple chose to whisper their vows to each other, instead of saying them out loud.
At the wedding’s reception, guests were treated to Brazilian meats, a variety of deserts and a live band that played American pop and Brazilian rock hits.
The couple met in 2006. They got engaged over the Christmas holiday, in 2011.
McConaughey will next appear on the big screen in Magic Mike, out June 29.
