New reports confirmed that producers have offered Oscar-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman the role Plutarch Heavensbee.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor, 44, would portray the pivotal role as the new Gamemaker at the Capitol after Seneca Crane (Wes Bentley) was killed at the end of The Hunger Games.
Reps for the Oscar-winning actor have yet to confirm the offer.
Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson recently slammed reports that he'd be in Catching Fire. During the Cannes Film Festival, the 26-year-old actor took time to address recent rumors of him being offered for a role.
“I woke up this morning and saw all these things about me being cast in The Hunger Games,” he told USA Today. “I was kind of curious for a second. So I called my agent.”
“(My agent) was like no one’s going to offer you that part,” he reported, breaking into a laugh. “I was like, thanks for the reassurance.”
The film is currently slated to be released on November 22, 2013.
