Former Disney Channel star Kyle Massey has filed a lawsuit against several defendants in connection with the new A&E reality show starring Bristol Palin, his lawyer told Celebuzz on Tuesday.

Kyle, his brother Christopher and their mother Angel are seeking a permanent injunction and monetary damages against producers of Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp, claiming the show -- which ironically premiered on Tuesday -- is owned by them and they were not properly compensated or credited for in creating.

Palin -- the 21-year-old daughter of 2008 GOP vice-presidential candidate and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin -- is not named as a defendant.

She and Massey reportedly dated after meeting on the set of Dancing with the Stars in 2010.

The defendants in the lawsuit are Associated Television International, Helping Hands, LLC and David McKenzie, also known as David Stanton.

According to the 31-page complaint supplied by the Masseys' Connecticut-based lawyer James L. Walker, Jr., the defendants are charged with copyright infringement, fraud & deceit, breach of contract, bad faith, misappropriation, tortious interference and unfair competition in the  lawsuit.

It's claimed the Masseys worked with producers to create a similar show, titled Helping Hands, that featured the Masseys, Palin and her son, Tripp, living together in Los Angeles and working for a charity.

But according to the lawsuit, producers cut out the Massey’s and re-packaged the program as Bristol Palin: Life’s A Tripp.

“It is unfortunate that after months of trying to resolve this matter the professional way, we were left with no other course of action than to take legal action to protect ourselves,” said family matriarch Angel Massey.

“If you read the entire complaint... you will see how we created the show, registered the show and did all the leg work to bring this idea to TV and to the defendants, who stole our concept.”

A lawyer for the Masseys said: “The law is on our side. Associated Television International and McKenzie have made a calculated decision to abscond with the original materials created by my clients, instead of honoring their word and written agreements.

"At the end of the day, the Massey’s will not permit others to steal and take advantage of their hard work. We look forward to our day in court and know that our clients will prevail.”

Kyle Massey dated Bristol Palin?!?! get out of town! seeing as she has no respect for gay marriage, i thought she'd have nothing rude to say about people with different skin tones. Kyle Massey is a cutie, he could have done SOOOO much better than Bristol. thank god Kyle & her are over, he deserves a princess, not a dog.

Oopsie. Folks that know the Palins from past business and personal relationships will all tell you: Take a pass on any offers to get on the Palin Grifter Bus because there's always a wake of bodies left behind as their bus speeds down the road. Whatever the Palins are into, they are in it solely for their benefit, not yours. Sorry, Kyle. I hope they are forced by the courts to make restitution, plus whatever punitive damages are proper. A couple of silver linings in this dark cloud: at least you didn't marry or impregnate the skank. We're glad to see that you were way too smart to get in that deep with the Palin clan. So you'll be fine in the long run. Good luck to you and your family.
