Will she or won’t she? Christina Applegate’s fate for Anchorman 2 has been a mystery ever since Will Ferrell announced a sequel was in the works in March.
Christina told Celebuzz last week she “didn’t know much about it” but said she would love to be apart of the sequel. So does producer Judd Apatow feel the same way?
We talked to him at the Critics’ Choice Television Awards in Beverly Hills on Monday, and the Knocked Up director told us…
He “absolutely” he wants Christina in the film.
“I don’t know that much– they are writing it now. I’ll know more when they hand it to me,” Apatow told Celebuzz on the carpet. “We love Christina Applegate. You know, hopefully we’ll have a script in a few months and be able to figure out exactly what’s going to happen with everybody.”
Judd was in attendance at the CCTA’s last night to support his HBO hit show Girls, which was nominated for four awards, including Best Comedy Series, but lost to Community. Get a full list of winners here.
Although the season finale of Girls just aired Sunday, Lena Dunham and her friends will be back in January.
“They are halfway shooting season two now… It’s great!” said Judd. “It’s fun to know the characters now and show different aspects of their lives.”
Especially Hanna and Adam’s relationship.
“That’s the fun of the season, you think, ‘This is a disaster, this guy is an animal!’ Slowly you see his sweet side…It’s a strange Sam and Diane Cheers situation.”
