Kim Kardashian's Surprising Confession to Oprah: I Started Birth Control at 14

Kim Kardashian has confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she started using birth control at “almost 15.”

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 31, revealed the juicy secret during Oprah's Next Chapter, saying that at 14, she was ready to have sex with her boyfriend of nearly two years.

Rather than go behind her parents' backs, she talked with her mother Kris Jenner, who decided to put Kim on birth control.

"When I did want to have sex the first time, I was almost 15," Kardashian said.

"I was like, 'I think I’m going to, or I want to,' and she was like, 'Okay, so this is what we’re gonna do, we’re gonna put you on birth control,' and she was like, really open and honest with me."

During the candid interview, Kardashian also opened up about her infamous sex video with ex-boyfriend Ray J after Winfrey asks, "Would you be where you are had there not been a sex tape?"

Kim responded: "You know, I think that's how I was definitely introduced to the world... It was a negative way, so I felt like I really had to work ten times harder to get people to see the real me."

The conversation continues next week, when Winfrey asks about Kanye West, on "Oprah's Next Chapter," Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on OWN.

Well that's great for you but that isn't how it works all the time...or even most of the time. You can educate your kids until their brains burst but most of the time if they want to have sex, they will. It would be wonderful if all teens would just listen to their parents but once again, it doesn't always work like that and hormones usually win.

its not like "teens are gonna have sex" you know my parents educate me well enough to wait.. and just be matured and don't regret my decisions later. at 14 you are still playing with dolls! you're a kid! parents should teach their children, not force them to do what they want but no ohh "lets put you at birth control w 14" and I'm 17 now and thanks to my parents I didn't make what would've been a big mistake.

Like it or not that is the smart thing to do. Teens are going to have sex and you can either accept it and do your job as a parent make them aware of contraceptives, or you can say "well you shouldn't be having sex at all so you don't need birth control" and end up raising grandchildren.

I think her mom did the right thing. Would people rather her be 14 and pregnant? More people should feel comfortable enough with their parents to really talk to them. Plus, I know people who lost their virginity at 12, so clearly she would have done it either way
