On Tuesday, Celebuzz gave readers a first look at Angelina Jolie in Disney’s Maleficent, but now new photos reveal an even closer glimpse of the actress’ villainous character.

The 37-year-old Oscar winner was seen on set of her latest film today, June 20, sporting a long brown cape, and of course, Maleficent’s signature horns. Joined by a number of the flick’s staff, the large group was roaming around the English countryside in between takes. Though Jolie’s character is quite evil, the mother of six was all smiles.

Recently, the future Mrs. Brad Pitt opened up about playing the character made famous in Disney’s classic Sleeping Beauty, and said there is much more than meets the eye.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Jolie was asked if the film was sympathetic to Maleficent or if she would be a “straight-up villain,” to which she replied:

“It’s both. I hope in the end you see a woman who is capable of being many things, and just because she protects herself and is aggressive, it doesn’t mean she can’t have other [warmer] qualities. You have to figure out the puzzle of what she is.”

Jolie also added that though this character is rather evil, she thinks there will be something for young girls to take away:

“It sounds really crazy to say that there will be something that’s good for young girls in this, because it sounds like you’re saying they should be a villain. [Maleficent] is actually a great person. But she’s not perfect. She’s far from perfect.”

Maleficent is expected to hit theaters in 2013, which makes many wonder — when will she have time to finally marry the Inglorious Basterds actor?

Pitt and Jolie, who got engaged in April after seven years of dating and six children later, have remained tight lipped on their ceremony.

When do you think they’ll get married, and are you excited for Maleficent to his theaters? Sound off in the comments section.
