NBC’s Smash continues to staff up. The series just added Off-Broadway actor and TV newbie, Andy Mientus, for Season 2. He plays a poor kid from Brooklyn with dreams of writing for Broadway. Oy, let’s hope we don’t have another poorly done Ellis (Jaime Cepero) on our hands -- just when we thought that was done with. This casting follows that of singer-actress Jennifer Hudson in a major recurring role and Newsies (and former pop singer) Jeremy Jordan as a new series regular. [TVLine]
