It’s been over a year since American Idol season 10 wrapped, but contestants Casey Abrams and Haley Reinhart are still making music together.

Case in point: their sexy, hip-hop-inspired cover of Ray Charles’ ‘Hit the Road Jack,’ which is featured on Abrams’ just-released eponymous album debut.

As Abrams explained in Celebuzz’s exclusive behind-the-scenes video of the making of the song, it was his idea to bring Reinhart in to record the track.

“I literally dragged Haley Reinhart into the studio with me so we could sing that song together,” he said.

“Then we sang together and basically the whole track is just one take; it’s just me and her singing back and forth with each other,” he added.

Abrams and Reinhart competed on the 10th season of American Idol, in 2010. Abrams finished in sixth place after being saved prior by the judges, while Reinhart made it all the way to a third-place finish.

The official website for country crooner Scotty McCreery was named the winner a few weeks later.

In May, Reinhart debuted her first studio album, Listen Up!
