Lamar Odom Traded to Los Angeles Clippers
After a brief stint playing for the Dallas Mavericks, Lamar Odom is officially returning home to Los Angeles.
Khloe Kardashian's husband has finalized a deal with the L.A. Clippers, a trade that no doubt makes his wife, a born and raised California girl, quite happy.
The Khloe and Lamar star was dropped from the Los Angeles Lakers this past December, only to then complete half the season with the Mavs before it was announced in April by the team that he would be an inactive player.
Odom now returns to the team that gave him his first break into the NBA, as the Clippers drafted him back in 1999.
According to a press release, a four-team trade was struck involving Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets.
The Clippers sent point guard Mo Williams to the Jazz and the draft rights to Furkan Aldemir to Houston, while the Jazz conveyed the draft rights of Tadija Dragicevic to Dallas.
Dallas sent the draft rights of Shan Foster to the Jazz with Houston sending cash considerations to Dallas.
The Mavericks originally had a "Friday deadline on a $2.4 million buyout of Odom's $8.2 million option for next season," Associated Press reports, but now, "will have an $8.2 million trade exception."
Khloe's sister, Kim, took to Twitter to voice her excitement, writing:
Congrats @RealLamarOdom!!! You are officially a Clipper! Best news ever!!!Likewise, Kourtney Kardashian could barely contain her happiness. She wrote:
