Rachel Crow isn’t afraid to tackle serious issues for her very first single.

The 14-year-old The X Factor favorite from Season 1 recently released a self-titled EP and the video for the inaugural single, “Mean Girls,” just hit the web.

In very candid interviews, a number of young girls who have been bullied recount tales of their tormenters.

Find out how Crow gives the girls the confidence to just be themselves.

Celebuzz recently spoke to Crow about the song. And when it comes to the serious tone of the single, she told us:

“[‘Mean Girls’] is really important to me, because everybody deals with mean girls, whether you’re a guy or a girl. And I didn’t want to reach to just the bullied, but the bullies as well. I want it to be an inspiration to everyone, because I want them to be like, ‘I don’t want to be who she’s talking about in that song, they sound horrible.’ … That was the whole point behind it.”
