Katy Perry Says Romance With Florence and the Machine's Robert Ackroyd Not Serious
Katy Perry is slowly but surely moving on from her divorce from Russell Brand, but it looks like she isn't ready to get serious with anyone just yet.
In a recent interview with USA Today, the "Wide Awake" singer commented on her rumored relationship with Florence and the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd. When asked about her dating life, the 27-year-old pop star answered, "That's not even appropriate to label. There are times I go out and meet people and flirt, but it's not really appropriate to have anything serious."
Perry and Ackroyd were first spotted kissing and cuddling at the Coachella Musical Festival this past April in Indio, Calif. during one of the weekend's many performances. This led many to believe that she and the guitarist were an item.
Perry, however, remains single and optimistic when it comes to love.
The singer, whose concert/documentary film Part of Me hit theaters on July 5, doesn't view her split in a negative light, but sees it as an opportunity to turn things around. "I have a second chance on life," she said. "To get maybe a better situation. For me, right now, I'm totally not looking. I'm just looking to heal. And I'm on that path. I'm not down on love."
Perry and Brand, 37, divorced earlier this year after tying the knot in October 2010 in a lavish ceremony held in India.
About a month after their Coachella PDA, there were reports the Perry and Ackroyd had split, but they were seen together once again leaving a party in London in early June.getting cozy on a train ride back in March.
