With her summer tour, new gig on The X Factor, and a chart-topping album Unbroken, Demi Lovato has bounced back — and she’s better than ever.

“I’m having so much fun,” the singer-turned-reality TV show judge told Good Morning America on Friday before belting out a three-song set as part of the program’s summer concert series.

But her career commitments make for a hectic schedule. “There definitely aren’t enough hours in the day," she explained. "I often don’t know what city I’m in.”

Now a year out of rehab, the singer-actress feels differently about her image.

Looking back at her time in treatment for emotional and physical issues, Lovato has no regrets. “I don’t think it does anybody any good to just hide something or cover it up or lie,” the 19-year-old, who battled eating disorders, explained. “The reason why I did it is because that’s what being a role model is about. It’s not about being perfect. It’s about speaking about your issues and inspiring others to get help. And I wanted to make sure that I shared my story with people so I can either help prevent them from going through the same things I did or help them get help.”

And the former Disney darling is continuing to be an idol for her fans. The now beach-blonde Lovato shines in a sunny frock on the August cover of Self magazine. “Being happy is a choice,” she told the issue, due out next week. And judging by her cover-girl smile, she is doing just that.
