Katie Holmes Lands First Acting Gig Since Split From Tom Cruise, Will Play Single Mom In 'Molly'
Art is about to imitate life for Katie Holmes.
As reports surface that she's reached a divorce settlement with Tom Cruise, the actress is set to channel her single status on the big screen in Molly. The film, which Holmes co-wrote and will co-produce, starts filming in New York City as soon as next week.
How has the star been researching her role?
From museum excursions to child play-dates and ice-cream outings, Holmes has the perfect repertoire to hone her new role: a single mom caring for a young daughter. The film will shoot until the end of the summer.
And her new career push doesn't end there. Holmes — who reportedly reached a divorce settlement with Cruise, 50, just two weeks after filing and asking sole legal custody of daughter Suri, 6 — is gearing up her first-ever show at New York Fashion Week this fall, when she will debut styles from her clothing line, Holmes & Yang.
Do you think the former Mrs. Cruise can get her career back on track? Sound off in the comments.
