Inside Sofia Vergara's Marriage Proposal: How Nick Loeb Popped the Question in Mexico (EXCLUSIVE DETAILS)
It’s a very happy 40th birthday for Sofia Vergara.
As reported earlier Tuesday, the Modern Family actress was proposed to by boyfriend Nick Loeb while the couple vacationed in Mexico. Celebuzz has learned exclusive details about his romantic proposal.
"He 'popped the question' while at the Mayan archeological ruins of Chichen Itza with the entire birthday entourage," a source close to Vergara tells Celebuzz. "Following yesterday’s proposal, the couple returned back to Rosewood Mayakoba where they celebrated with family and friends, including Modern Family cast mates Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen and Sarah Hyland."
Vergara, who recently got back together with Loeb after a brief split, has plans to celebrate her birthday tonight with more than 90 guests, the source adds. “The star studded group will have even more reason to celebrate!”

Loeb is the son of Ambassador John Loeb, Jr.—who served as President Ronald Reagan's Ambassador to Denmark. In addition to political ambitions, the younger Loeb serves as President of Onion Crunch, which markets a crispy sandwich and salad topping and as Managing Partner of Carbon Solutions America, an independent consulting firm that helps private entities reduce their carbon footprints.
