Tori Spelling Says She’s Bikini-Ready: ‘The Pregnant Body is Beautiful’
“Preggers deserve to sit poolside too!” she told Celebuzz in an exclusive chat. “I think the pregnant body is beautiful and not something to be embarrassed by or hidden away.”
The 39-year-old and her hubby Dean McDermott, 45, still don’t know if they’re having a boy or a girl to join their current brood: son Liam, 5, and daughters Stella, 4, and Hattie, 9 months. And they don’t plan to find out.
“We didn’t with Hattie, and it was the most amazing surprise ever,” Spelling says.
Baby Hattie is a big too young to have an opinion, but what do Liam and Stella want?
”They’ve totally flip-flopped,” says the Beverly Hills 90210 star. “Originally, Liam wanted a boy and Stella a girl. Now Stella wants a boy and Liam wants another sister.”
Spelling certainly hasn’t been hesitant to add to her family: she conceived when Hattie was just a month old. So will she keep going and try for number five?
“I don’t like finality,” she confesses, “but four sounds like a good number!”
And a hefty one. With such an active crew — plus a menagerie of animals that includes dogs, a goat, chickens and a pig — Spelling doesn’t get a lot of “me” time.
“I haven’t been allowed to pee by myself on years,” she confesses. “Whether it’s a kid or an animal, even there, I get no alone time. My me time is writing my blog EdiTORIal and crafting. Both of those are therapeutic to me.”
Crafting is such a passion, in fact, that she’s currently serving as the executive producer and host of the new TLC show Craft Wars, which pits three contestants against one another in a crafting showdown.
Spelling has always been crafty (her latest book, CelebraTORI, is brimming with entertaining and crafting tips); she picked up the crafting bug from her mom, Candy, and it’s a tradition she shares with her own children.
“I love crafting with my kids,” she says. “We craft weekly in my house and make everything from homemade gifts and cards to jewelery to home décor. I live for twine! All kinds of twine. I even carry a spool of it in my purse. Besides that, I love my mini glue gun. I recently discovered the wireless glue gun. No plug in-needed! Obsessed.”
With all her ventures, Spelling could certainly win a medal for busiest mom in Hollywood. In addition to her reality show and bestselling books, she also has a clothing and jewelry line. But the star isn’t complaining.
“I get to do everything I love,” she says. “I feel truly blessed!”
TLC’s Craft Wars airs on Tuesdays at 10/9 c. Will you be tuning in? Sound off in the comments.
