‘Saturday Night Live’s’ Seth Meyers Says No to ‘Live With Kelly’ Gig
According to the report, Meyers (who’s guest hosting the morning show this week) was not only on Disney-ABC Television’s short list – along with retired footballer Michael Strahorn and singer Josh Groban – but, he was the frontrunner.
The reports go on to say that he would leave his SNL writing gig for the morning talk show job. But, Meyers says that isn’t true.
“No, no, no, no, no,” the comedian, 38, tells the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
“I know [Regis’ replacement] is a very important thing down there,” he continues. “But, right now, what I would say to you: I’m really in love with the job I have. I’m very excited to be going back [to SNL] for the election season, which is always fun.”
he’s on his way out.
Philbin left his co-hosting gig on the morning talk show in November of last year after 28 seasons. Since then, a parade of stars have co-hosted with Ripa, including newly out newsman Anderson Cooper, Jerry O’Connell and Ripa’s soap opera actor husband Mark Consuelos.
