And then there were two.

On last night’s episode of The Bachelorette, Emily Maynard made the tough decision to send one suitor packing — and two through to the season 8 finale (airing July 22).

It may not have been the most shocking. rose ceremony. ever., but the episode was still filled with plenty of heartbreak — and, naturally, plenty of tears.

So who did Emily send home?

Unfortunately, fan favorite Sean, a 28-year-old insurance agent from Dallas, was given the boot, in what will certainly go down as one of the more emotional eliminations this season.

Clearly blindsided by Emily’s decision, Sean expressed disappointment after the big news was revealed in Curacao.

“I feel kind of stupid,” he said to a tearful Emily, “because I knew with certainty that I was ready to spend forever with you. I didn’t see this coming, obviously.”

“I’m gonna miss you more than you know. I care about you, ultimately. If this is the best for you, then you have to do what’s best for you,” he added.

“I hope I am,” replied Emily, still in tears.

Earlier in the episode, Sean finally confessed that he loved Emily, adding only more heartbreak to Emily’s decision.

With Sean out, that leaves only Jef and Arie, each of whom will presumably get down on one knee and propose to Emily when the season 8 finale airs Sunday, July 22 on ABC.
