Katie Holmes doesn't want Suri involved in the org.
We may never know — officially — what triggered Katie Holmes to file for divorce from her husband of five-and-a-half years, Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise.

Nor, why the Mission Impossible star struck a settlement with Holmes, 33, with the same speed that kicked off their much-scrutinized romance.

Ex-Scientologists believe Cruise, 50, settled the case in order “to save the church” from weeks of negative publicity brought on by Holmes, who will now go down as one of its most notable defectors.

But she isn’t the only Hollywood star to ditch the controversial faith.

Jerry Seinfeld, Demi Moore and the late Patrick Swayze have all dabbled in Scientology — but chose to leave.

What’s more, Cruise’s ex-wife Nicole Kidman left Scientology after her divorce from Cruise in Aug. 2001.

Who else?

G.I. Jane actor Jason Beghe famously left the church in 2007 — after 13 years.

The 52-year-old actor released an online video rant against the religion, saying: “Scientology is destructive and a rip-off. It’s very, very dangerous for your spiritual, psychological, mental, emotional health and evolution. I think it stunts your evolution.

“If Scientology is real, then something’s f—ed up.”

In a 2007 interview with Access Hollywood, actor Jerry Seinfeld revealed he’d dabbled in Scientology.

“I did some Scientology courses about 30 years ago,” the Seinfeld creator told interviewer Billy Bush.

“The only thing that bothers me about people knowing that is that it is not my complete wacko resume. It’s just one aspect!

“I am very interested in self help things,” he added.

“When I was a young man in my 20s I would explore, like, meditation and I studied Aikido, karate and yoga. I would just take little things from each of these things.”

What made him stop? “I don’t know… I was kind of flitting from thing to thing. I was interested in exploring,” Seinfeld noted.

Scientology insiders have reported that Demi Moore was “heavily courted” by the church through the years, however, the actress is now devoted to Kabbalah.
