Comic-Con 2012: Yvonne Strahovski on the '180' From 'Chuck' to 'Dexter'; Running in Heels for Showtime

"I don’t think I could have asked for anything better"
'Dexter' Star Yvonne Strahovski Arrives at 2012 Comic-Con

Yvonne Strahovski is no stranger to San Diego Comic-Con. Last year, she and her Chuck castmates tearfully said goodbye to the fans who supported the show since its first season. This year, she returns to the fest with a brand new recurring role on the upcoming season of Showtime’s Dexter.

“I’m really excited to do a complete 180,” Strahovski, 29, tells Celebuzz at Showtime’s Dexter party at the Wired Café in the Omni hotel.

The Australian actress plays Hannah McKay, who meets Dexter (Michael C. Hall) while working on a cold case. The kicker lies in that she went on a killing spree with her boyfriend when she was younger. Then after getting caught, she turned on him!

“I go from playing a CIA agent enforcing the law to someone who is not part of law enforcement, someone who’s darker, someone who has a mysterious past that we’ll explore obviously throughout the season,” she tells us. “And to be part of this amazing Emmy award-winning show, I mean, I don’t think I could have asked for anything better after Chuck.”

Strahovski is clearly excited to be part of the dark drama and says that she braved the Comic-Con streets in freakishly high shoes to make sure she arrived to the cable network’s party on time.

“I’m wearing six-inch platform high heels and we were stuck in so much traffic and we knew we were going to be late for this,” she says. “So, we got out of the car and we all ran, through crowds, it was very epic.”

Celebuzz talked to Strahovski earlier this year about the Chuck series finale and her nude SoBe water campaign. Find out how the body paint artist comforted her on the set in the video below:

Good to see the lovely Yvonne's career continues beyond Chuck. Hope she has a good role to play and isn't just a "token blonde" to be killed by Dexter to attract an audience - she deserves better !
