Steven Tyler Leaves 'Idol'
Aerosmith frontman announces he's leaving hit show.
Though she’s only been on American Idol for two seasons, Jennifer Lopez is causing quite the stir with her exit.

As Celebuzz previously reported, the “Dance Again” singer is leaving her judging post on FOX’s reality singing competition. Lopez, 42, joined Idol in 2011 to replace former mentors Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres.

Fans definitely took a liking to the talented Latina star, and her chemistry with fellow judges Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler, who also recently announced his departure from the show, gave the series a fresher feel.

To pay homage to Lopez, we’re taking a look back at five of her most memorable Idol moments.

On Friday, Idol host Ryan Seacrest confirmed to fans via Twitter that Lopez was ending her run, writing:

“Just confirmed [email protected] she’s made up her mind…will leave idol. :( gonna miss her”

The tweet came about an hour or so after his 14-minute interview with Lopez aired on his radio show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest, during which Lopez vaguely hinted at her exit.

“I honestly feel like that the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do that I’ve put, kind of, on hold, because I love Idol so much … You have a lot of other responsibilities and you have a lot of other things that you do, and you have to pay attention to that too,” she told Seacrest.

“I could keep just doing Idol for the rest of my life … But that would be giving up a bunch of other things, and I just … I don’t know. I feel like we had an amazing run.”

Lopez further explained that her many businesses, plus raising her two twins, Max and Emme, 4, have played a role in her departure.

As of Friday, a report from US Weekly claims that Randy Jackson, the only remaining original judge on the panel, is set to be leaving, due to a complete overhaul of the show.

Celebuzz has reached out to FOX and is awaiting comment.
