Jennifer Lopez Wants Bono, Jon Bon Jovi or Mick Jagger to Replace Her on 'American Idol' (VIDEO)
It's only been a couple of days since Jennifer Lopez finally, vaguely, confirmed she is leaving American Idol after two seasons, but already, the 42-year-old beauty has a few thoughts on who should potentially fill her seat at the judges' table when the show returns in January.
"I think big. I think Bono, or Bon Jovi or Mick Jagger," Lopez told ABC News, when asked who she thought should replace her on TV's top-rated program.
And speaking of influential rockers: Lopez also told ABC News on Sunday that her decision to leave Idol was influenced by Steven Tyler, who announced his departure from the show one day prior, via a press release.
“We had magic,” she said, of their two-year experience on the show together. “I don’t know. With him gone, it might be a different formula.”
Lopez -- who joined the show in 2011, following the departure of judges Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi -- confirmed her exit from Idol following a 14-minute interview on On Air With Ryan Seacrest, during which she expressed her desire to move onto other projects.
"I honestly feel like that the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do that I’ve put, kind of, on hold, because I love Idol so much … You have a lot of other responsibilities and you have a lot of other things that you do, and you have to pay attention to that too,” she told Seacrest.
A number of potential replacements have subsequently floated onto the Internet as rumors. Among the many: Mariah Carey, who may ultimately be too expensive for the show, according to reports.
