Katie Holmes to Star in New Broadway Play Following Tom Cruise Divorce
Holmes, 33, will certainly be making New York City her fulltime home, as she is returning to Broadway in comedy Dead Accounts by Smash creator Theresa Rebeck, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
She will play the rather unglamorous character of Lorna, who lives with her elderly parents while trying to get her life together.
But this isn’t the first time the soon-to-be ex Mrs. Tom Cruise has been on the stages of Broadway.
Holmes, previously starred in the 2008 Broadway production of All My Sons.
Dead Accounts opens this fall and will be one of three work projects the mom-of-one -- who currently lives with six-year-old Suri Cruise -- is reportedly working on.
Holmes is also rumored to be in a so far untitled drama about a single mom named Molly, which she co-wrote and is producing. She has also been linked to the romantic comedy Responsible Adults, where she will play Gossip Girl actor Chace Crawford’s love interest.
When Holmes filed for divorce last month in New York, initially husband Cruise tried to argue that the pair actually resided in Los Angeles, Calif., but failed to convince a judge.
Holmes has also since enrolled little Suri in school for the first time in one of the city’s top private Catholic schools.
