Chris Hemsworth Lands Lead In Steven Spielberg's 'Robopocalypse'
After uber-successful turns in Thor, The Avengers and Snow White and the Huntsman, the Aussie actor has snatched up the coveted star role in Steven Spielberg's upcoming sci-fi flick, Robopocalypse.
The famed filmmaker tapped the action hero for his adaptation of Daniel H. Wilson's best-selling novel about a post-apocalyptic world run by robots, according to Deadline.
So when will the big-budget blockbuster's production get under way?
The actor, 28, is currently reprising his best-known action-hero role in the forthcoming film Thor: The Dark World, scheduled for release in November 2013.
Hemsworth — who helped break box office records in The Avengers — will presumably hit Spielberg's set after Thor wraps.
With an Academy Award-winning director and a profit-producing leading man, Robopocalypse is gearing up to be a smash hit. Disney, DreamWorks and Fox have teamed up to co-finance the film, which will hit the big screen on April 25, 2014.
