'Dark Knight Rises': 25 Unforgettable Quotes From Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy (PHOTOS)
Christopher Nolan's Batman series comes to a close as the last installment, The Dark Knight Rises, which hits theaters Friday.
Though many fans are shaking in anticipation for the summer flick's big premiere, the movie's release is also bittersweet as it means the Oscar-nominated filmmaker will no longer be involved in the Caped Crusader's movies -- should the studio wish to make another one.
Nolan -- who wrote and directed Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises -- has been credited with reviving the series after 1997's less-than-stellar Batman & Robin.
Early reviews for The Dark Knight Rises have already hit the web and, as one might expect, the film is already receiving some of the biggest accolades of the year.
Perhaps the strongest praise for the film came from The Hollywood Reporter, where its critic called it the best of director's Batman trilogy.
“Entirely enveloping and at times unnerving in a relevant way one would never have imagined, as a cohesive whole this ranks as the best of Nolan’s trio, even if it lacks — how could it not? — an element as unique as Heath Ledger‘s immortal turn in The Dark Knight,” Todd McCarthy wrote in his review. “It’s a blockbuster by any standard.”
The film currently is sitting at high with at least a 80 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
