Celebs took to Twitter to remember Amy Winehouse.
One year ago, the life of famed singer Amy Winehouse came to a sad end when police found the 27-year-old lifeless in her North London home.

A subsequent coroner’s report listed the cause of her death as alcohol poisoning, but the writing had long been on the wall: the singer had famously battled addiction for years, doing stints in rehab in summer 2007, late 2008 and then again just two months before her death. And earlier in the day of July 23, 2011, she canceled an upcoming tour, with her manager announcing that she was once again battling her demons.

He tweeted: “Amy Winehouse is withdrawing from all scheduled performances. Everyone involved wishes to do everything they can to help her return to her best and she will be given as long as it takes for this to happen.”

But before came she succumbed to her addictions, Winehouse was one of music’s brightest stars.

The singer scored hit singles (“Rehab” reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100), sold millions of albums (Back to Black was the UK’s best-selling album of 2007)  and won countless awards (she swept the Grammys in 2008).

To mark the anniversary of her death – and celebrate her life — Celebuzz has compiled some rare facts about Winehouse. For example, do you know what the singer considered her “secret weapon”? (Hint: it was six inches high and required a whole lot of teasing.) And why did she get kicked out of theater school at the age of 14? (The answer, we assure you, is pure Amy).
