Katie Holmes Gets Flustered When Asked About Tom Cruise in Pre-Divorce Interview
Just one day before filing for divorce from Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes sat down for a candid interview with C Magazine -- and seemed to hint that trouble was ahead.
Senior editor Kelsey McKinnon, who met with Holmes for the interview, admits the actress definitely wasn't bragging about her five-year marriage and seemed flustered when asked if their daughter Suri Cruise had brought them closer together.
What did Holmes say?
“Going back over the tapes, there were signs: Holmes was certainly very aware of herself, laying a couple cards on the table but never showing her whole hand,” McKinnon wrote (via WWD). “Most noticeably, the one name decisively absent from her lexicon: Tom Cruise. She never actually refers to him by name over pages and pages of transcription.”
When McKinnon asked if having Suri brought the couple closer together, Holmes said, “I don’t know. I mean…I don’t know. People have been having babies a long time.”
Though details of the settlement remain under wraps, it has been reported that Holmes has received primary custody of Suri, while Cruise has been given generous visitation rights.
Earlier this week, Cruise, 50, spent the entire day with Suri during a recent stay in New York.
