The ongoing feud between Madonna and Lady Gaga continued this week after Madonna once again accused Gaga's song "Born This Way"of sounding too similar to her own hit "Express Yourself."

"I'm a really big fan of ['Born This Way']," Madonna said in a recent interview on Brazilian television. "And I'm glad that I could help her write it."

The comment was just the latest dig from the 53-year-old pop icon, who for months has criticized Gaga for copying her style.

In an interview with ABC's Nightline, in January, Madonna broke her silence on the comparisons between the two songs, admitting that "Born This Way" ultimately "felt reductive."

"When I heard it on the radio … I said, 'That sounds very familiar,'" she added.

"There’s a lot of ways to look at it. I can’t really be annoyed by it …because, obviously, I’ve influenced her."

Around the same time, Madonna -- who this summer was caught rehearsing for a concert to a mash-up of Born This Way and Express Yourself -- trashed the song in an interview with Newsweek, saying, "I thought, 'This is a wonderful way to redo my song.' I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was ... interesting."

Gaga, 26, has since defended her number-one hit on numerous occasions.

During a concert performance in New Zealand, in June, she addressed the controversy before her fans, saying, in a long-winded rant: "It sometimes makes people feel better about themselves to put other people down or make fun of them or maybe make mockery of their work."

"Things are really different than they were 25 years ago, and that’s what makes ‘Born this Way’ so relevant for me. We’re socially in a different place and it’s okay -- we don’t have to all slice and hate each other anymore."

What do you think of the Madonna-Gaga feud? Is it time to settle the score? Or does Madonna have a point? Sound off, below.

not a big fan of new madonna music and not a fan of gaga's music at all but i can def see where she is copying madonna's song. she tries so hard to be bigger and better than madonna while trying to be just like her, very vulgar and unlady like.

I think Madonna has a point IF Lady Gaga's only claim to fame is "Born This Way". However, just from that sophomore album alone, there are many worthwhile tracks that are engaging and very memorable. From Edge of Glory, to You and I, to Judas and even my favourite, Americano, that album is sterling. And I haven't even touched on Lady Gaga's first album. So Madonna's desperate attempt to link herself to Lady Gaga seems petty, desperate and ultimately, self-serving. Not good qualities of an irrelevant pop singer.

Can't stand Madonna. She probably thinks EVERY song is stolen from her because she has such a high opinion of herself. I expect she is jealous of Lady Gaga, because people care what she's up to, whereas Madonna has to start little controversies, flash her nipples and butt, and put swastikas and guns in her shows for any attention. She is desperate and pathetic. Don't care if they are similar, Madonna needs to just be grateful that one of her songs is even being talked about anymore. And for the record, I am not a Lady Gaga fan. I just like her as a person more than that egocentric hag Madonna.

Can you say irrelevant, bitter, old hag? I knew that you could!

Don't like either one of them, but Madonna is right. The lyrics and some chords are different, but that song is without a doubt Express Yourself. Funny that Gaga "defends" it by saying don't hate. Just admit that you stole it, and the whole thing would be done.

Madonna reeeeaaally needs to get over this. She is so desperate for attention - this, her nipple at concerts, shooting the audience with a fake gun (even the day after the tradgedy in Colorado), all of it.
