Sharon Osbourne: I’m Leaving ‘America’s Got Talent’
On Tuesday, Sharon Osbourne coyly tweeted to her fellow judge, “My darling @HowardStern, money is not the reason I’m not returning to @nbcagt, it’s because…”
According to Access Hollywood, Osbourne, 49, wrote the tweet in response to a discussion Stern was having on his Xirius XM show about her impending departure.
Celebuzz it’s not commenting on the rock star wife and The Talk co-host’s statement. Though NBC Chairman Robert Greenblatt did address the news with reporters at the TCA Press Tour: “This is coming out of context. And it’s probably much ado about nothing,” he dismissed.
Osbourne’s possible departure follows just a year after executive producer Simon Cowell replaced Piers Morgan with the shock jock. In addition to Morgan, former judges on the NBC competition include Brandy Norwood and David Hasselhoff.
It also comes at a time of great upheaval at FOX’s American Idol as Mariah Carey recently filled one of the vacant seats left behind by former judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.
