Alex Pettyfer In Talks to Play Kristen Stewart's Love Interest in 'Cali'

Variety is reporting that Magic Mike star Alex Pettyfer is in final negotiations to star alongside Kristen Stewart in the upcoming film Cali.

Pettyfer, 22, would play Stewart’s love interest in Nick Cassavetes’ gritty action flick.

Celebuzz talked to Stewart at Comic-Con and got an update  on the project...

“I’m talking to Nick every day -- we’re still figuring some stuff out,” Stewart told us. "I will be hitting the gym. Hard.”

Cali is about a couple (Stewart and Pettyfer) who sell a fake snuff film and disappear with a bunch of cash. Years later, Stewart’s character must return to save her younger sister.

Stewart, of course, now has other things on her mind: on Wednesday, she admitted to engaging in a fling with her married Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, 41.

The actress issued a heartfelt statement to PEOPLE magazine, in which she said: "I’m deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I’ve caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected."

Sanders, meanwhile, offered his own mea culpa, saying, “I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family.”
