Is American Idol going country?

According to Deadline, FOX’s hit singing competition has its eye on a popular crooner to replace outgoing judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler.

Who’s the potenial Idol judge?

Brad Paisley!

The move could prove satisfying to longtime Idol viewers: they’re the ones who voted country singers Carrie Underwood and Scotty McCeery champions in Season 4 and Season 10, respectively.

Paisley is best known for his songs “We Danced,” “Letter To Me” and “I’m Still a Guy.” He’s scored a whopping 16 number-one singles on Billboard’s country chart, along with seven top-selling albums.

Last week, Idol announced pop superstar Mariah Carey is joining the show.  The diva is reportedly being paid a record-setting $18 million.
