Lawyer Michael Jackson Fired for ‘Negligence’ Now Representing Late Pop Star’s Estate (EXCLUSIVE)
In a letter exclusively obtained by Celebuzz, Michael’s sisters Janet, Rebbie and brothers Tito, Randy and Jermaine Jackson, accused the executors of Michael’s estate, John Branca and John McClain, of faking Michael’s final will before his death on June 25, 2009.
But the executors of the will “will not stand down because the siblings who were left out of Michael’s will want them to,” Zia Modabber, the attorney of the Jackson estate, told ABC.
Now Celebuzz can exclusively reveal that the Mr. Modabber has an embattled history with Michael Jackson — and was in fact fired by the late pop star for “negligence.”
In a legal letter addressed to Mr. Modabber and obtained by Celebuzz, a law firm notified Modadbber of subsequent proceedings in a suit in which he defended Jackson against plaintiff Marcel Avram.
“On behalf of our client, we are placing you and your firm on notice of Mr. Jackson’s claim against you for professional negligence in connection with your representation of Mr. Jackson and the preparation of the release which was intended to cover the claims asserted by Mr. Avram in the pending arbitration, which the Superior Court concluded did not extend to be the same,” read the letter from Venable LLB.
Despite this dispute, Modabber is now representing the King of Pop’s estate , which is at the heart of a heated legal battle.
It began with an aggressive letter from some of Jackson’s siblings, attacking the executors of the estate:
Since the passing of Michael, our beloved brother, you have failed to perform your duties as executors of his estate, but what you have not failed at is taking advantage of a grieving mother, father and a grieving family,” says the letter. ”Our brother told us, in no uncertain terms and without hesitation in the months prior to his death, that he despised both of you and that he did not want either of you to have anything to do with his life or estate for that matter.
Celebuzz exclusively reported that at least three of Michael’s siblings — Janet, Jermaine and Randy — showed up to Katherine Jackson’s Calabasas mansion on Tuesday afternoon in an attempt to remove MJ’s children — Prince Michael, 15, Paris, 14, and Blanket, 10 — after their grandmother left them alone and headed to Arizona.
Now, the estate executors are reportedly seeking immediately guardianship of the kids.
