Lady Gaga Issues ‘Warning’ to ‘Call Me Maybe’ Singer Carly Rae Jepsen Via Twitter

Call me, maybe… but top my record, never.

Carly Rae Jepsen has been warned by the Mother Monster herself, Lady Gaga, after her hit “Call Me Maybe” broke one of Gaga’s chart records.

That’s not much of a shocker considering how catchy the tune is — see the Call Me Maybe lyrics on DirectLyrics.

How did Justin Biebers prodigy surpass Gaga?

“Call Me Maybe” just spent its seventh week at #1 on Billboard Hot 100, surpassing Gaga’s six-week stay at the top with her “Born This Way” single.

Gaga tweeted on Wednesday, July 25:

“@carlyraejepsen I SEE you just swooped in and broke my BORN THIS WAY record of the most weeks at #1.  DON’T GET COMFORTABLE I’M COMING FOR YOU.”

Despite being trumped on the Hot 100, Gaga has a lot to be proud of — the pop singer is soon to take on her first acting gig in the new Robert Rodriguez film, Machete Kills.

She also just previewed some fresh tracks to her fans on July 22, blasting the beats from an SUV in a New York City parking lot.

Fans will have to wait in anticipation for the title of Mother Monster’s new album: the 26-year-old Grammy winner says she’ll reveal the name in September.

However, there is one album tease — Gaga has suggested that one of its singles will be produced by DJ White Shadow, who worked with her on songs such as Born This Way and The Edge of Glory.

Do you think Gaga’s next single will give Jepsen a run for her money and hit number one? Sound off in the comments.
