Madonna Booed By Paris Concertgoers; Prompts Angry Fan Riot After Cutting Show Short (VIDEO)
Hell hath no fury like a Madonna fan scorned.
Paris concertgoers began to riot when the "Express Yourself" singer ended her MDNA show after 45 minutes at famed Paris concert hall l’Olympia.
After Madonna left the stage, fans remained in their seats booing and yelling insults like “salope,” the French word for “slut.” Others reportedly shouted, "Give us our money back" in French.
Fans also took to Twitter to express their disappointment. One angry fan, who had camped out for two days, wrote:
"280? for a seat + 10 minutes of a speech + 40 minutes of a show + 2 days of camping in front of the #Olympia = #Madonna #MDNA #Paris #thatsucks."This isn't the only controversy Madonna has faced this month.
During a July 14 concert, she came under fire after featuring an image of French Front National Party leader Marine Le Pen with a swastika superimposed on her forehead.
The singer addressed the controversy at the l'Olympia show.
"I know that I made a certain Marine Le Pen very angry with me," she said. "And it's not my intention to make enemies ... It's my intention to promote tolerance. And when we start saying that we have to get rid of this person or we have to get rid of that person, because then we'll have a better place, it starts to sound like something else, it starts to sound like something scary. So the next time you want to point the finger at somebody and blame them for a problem in your life, take that finger and point it back at you."
Madonna has also made headlines on the tour for frequently flashing her naughty bits to her audience.
