It’s official: Mariah Carey will be launching her musical comeback on August 2.

The award-winning diva – and newest American Idol judge – announced the release date for her much-anticipated new single, “Triumphant (Get ‘Em)” on Monday. The song features rappers Rick Ross and Meek Mill.

And the singer gave fans a couple of very special sneak peeks into “Triumphant”…

Along with her release date announcement, Carey unveiled the single’s cover. Not surprisingly, it features all things Mimi: sultry posing, a figure-hugging cut-out gown and plenty of the singer’s famous assets.

Carey’s fans – whom she affectionately calls “Lambs” – were certainly overjoyed by the image and word of the upcoming single. To say the least.

On one message board, an admirer wrote: “OMG. I can’t breathe… Mariah, our poor souls aren’t ready to get slayed…… YESSSSSSSSSSSSS.”

Another wrote with enough drama to rival Carey herself, saying: “On August 5th 1990, Mariah Carey’s debut single ‘Vision of Love’ hit number one on the Hot 100.  22 years and 17 more number one hits later, she is still invincibly relevant. *Bows down and thanks the Lord for the gift he gave to music that is Ms. Carey.*”

If the single cover wasn’t enough to work the Lambs into a frenzy, Carey also tweeted a photo of herself on the set of the “Triumphant” video, which is reportedly shooting in NYC; her husband Nick Cannon is serving as director.

In other Carey news, the “Butterfly” singer is increasing her social media following — she joined Instagram (@mariahcarey) on Monday and had 37,000 followers within an hour.
