An arrest warrant has been issued for Cuba Gooding Jr. after the Oscar-winning actor allegedly shoved a female bartender early Tuesday morning in New Orleans, Celebuzz has confirmed.

“There has been an arrest warrant issued for [Gooding Jr.] for municipal battery," Remi Braden, the Director of Public Affairs for the New Orleans Police Dept., told Celebuzz exclusively. “Apparently he pushed a bartender twice at the bar.”

“He was apparently getting rowdy when people were trying to take photos, and he got aggravated," Braden continued. "The bartender tried to calm him down, at which time he allegedly pushed her, and before he left the bar he pushed her again.”

“When he left, it was either the bartender or her boss immediately called the police.”

“We are currently looking for him.”

The NOPD later confirmed the news in a press release. The name of the female bartender was not released.

The full release as follows:

New Orleans police have issued an arrest warrant for Cuba Gooding, Jr. after the actor allegedly pushed a bartender twice in a French Quarter business early this morning. The incident happened in the 200-block of Bourbon Street at about 3a.m.

A female bartender told officers that Gooding entered the bar with a group of people, and after a few minutes, other customers recognized him and started asking him to take photos with them.  The bartender said Gooding soon became very aggravated with them.  That’s when she says she approached him and asked him to calm down.  Gooding then allegedly pushed her away with an open hand.  One of the bartender’s co-workers then called 9-1-1.

At that point, the bartender says she informed Gooding that the police were on the way, and that he needed to leave.  Gooding then allegedly pushed her again, and left the bar. New Orleans police have obtained an arrest warrant for Cuba Gooding, Jr. for municipal battery.

Gooding Jr., who became a household name after his Oscar-winning performance in Jerry Maguire, is in New Orleans filming the new Lee Daniels movie The Butler, starring Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey and Jane Fonda, among others.

He shoved a bartender TWICE and the bar's security didn't get involved? Sounds odd to me. I wonder if this is a case of a person blowing something way out of proportion in order to milk a celeb for their money.
