Forget the Olympics, British X-Factor star Olly Murs has created his own unique spin on the games called the “Olly-mpics”.

The singer – who famously opened for One Direction’s American tour – gave Celebuzz an all access pass to his quirky campaign which sees him spoofing the real Olympic sports.

So is Olly worthy of a medal?

Dropping to the ground Murs, 28, was happy to get dirty in the name of some fun as he competed against his band Darren and John in a wheel-barrow race.

But it’s safe to say the fun loving Londoner – who is taking challenge suggestions from his fans on Twitter – should stick to singing as he failed to impress with his terrible ‘wheel-barrowing’ skills.

Despite an enthusiastic start Murs collapsed half way through and failed to make it to the finish line as his winning competitors jumped around with glee.

Better luck next time Olly.
