Rock of Love Season 2 winner Ambre Lake, who briefly dated Michaels after the finale, admits that it’s tough being with a rock star. She split from the Poison frontman in July 2008, saying that “with his tour line-up, there was no time for a relationship.”
But Lake says she believes her former flame will eventually find his way back to Gibson, who’s had an on-again off-again relationship with Michaels for 10 years.
“We dated. We were in love, but he totally wanted to make it work with Kristi,” Lake reveals. “Kristi is great for Bret, but he has a very big life. Sometimes it really becomes difficult.”
Does she think the rocker will jump right back into the dating game?
Lake believes the “Every Rose Has Its Thorns” singer, 49, won’t date for a while, ruling out a fourth season of Rock of Love.
“We all move in and out of love, and maybe they decided they were better as co-parents than as a couple,” the blonde bombshell said.
“I assume he’ll dive right back into music and what he loves. When we’re hurt, we lick our wounds. We dive into our passions, and that’s how we heal and move on.”
Michaels had asked Gibson to marry him on the 2010 finale of his VH1 reality show, Bret Michaels: Life As I Know It.
The couple, who have two daughters, Raine Elizabeth and Jorja Bleu, announced their breakup on July 30.
“Kristi will always be in his life and he’ll always love her. No doubt about that,” Lake added. “I know Bret would do anything for her, and he loves his daughters more than anything else in the world.”
