Beyonce Will Direct, Star in Documentary About Her Life and Career
Beyonce Knowles is ready for her close-up.
The Grammy-winning icon is set to direct and star in a new documentary about her life and uber-successful music career, according to a report from the LA Times.
Knowles, 30, is currently shopping around 20 minutes of footage from the movie, which is described as "a mix of music and personal study, blending concert footage with confessional interviews."
If confirmed, this would be just the latest bit of footage from the 30-year-old singer, who in 2011 released a short movie about her four-day concert stint at Roseland Ballroom in New York.
Music documentaries have become somewhat of a trend in the last few years. In July, singer Katy Perry hit the big screen in Katy Perry: Part of Me, while Justin Bieber smashed box-office records with Never Say Never in 2011.
In May, Knowles -- who is still attached to lead Clint Eastwood's remake of A Star Is Born -- performed a three-day concert event in Atlantic City, her first series of performances since she gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter in January.
