We had hoped after watching the last episode of HBO’s True Blood that Bill (Stephen Moyer) was just playing the Authority. But, a new sneak peek from Sunday’s episode, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” paints a different picture.

If you’ll remember, the Authority returned from their bloody (and Lilith blood-intoxicated) New Orleans feeding trip even more resolved to crush the mainstreaming movement.

Where do Bill’s allegiances lie?

While brainstorming ideas, Bill recommends that they take out the TruBlood factories and cease production on the drink that has enabled vampires to go without drinking human blood, which would cause a civil war.

Meanwhile, Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) has clearer head on the situation – thanks to a vision of from his pacifist maker Godric (Allan Hyde). And he takes Bill aside to find out if there’s some kind of endgame he’s working toward.

Here’s the official episode description from HBO.

As the Authority proceeds with Lilith’s plan, Eric (Alexander Skarsgård) plots his escape. Gran (Lois Smith) directs Sookie (Anna Paquin) to a clue to her parents’ murderer. Andy (Chris Bauer) and Jason (Ryan Kwanten) search for leads to the identities of the people behind the shifter killings. Alcide (Joe Manganiello) recalls his pack induction; Arlene (Carrie Preston) gets caught in Terry (Todd Lowe) and Patrick’s (Scott Foley) crossfire; Steve (Michael McMillian) gets a new pet.
Written by Raelle Tucker; directed by Dan Attias.

Watch the preview above, as well as a bonus one below in which Sookie (Anna Paquin) finds a clue that may help answer her questions surrounding her parents’ death.

True Blood airs Sundays at 9 PM on HBO.
