Nick Jonas Confirms 'American Idol' Reports: 'I Am Being Considered to Be a Judge'
Nick Jonas is currently in talks to join Randy Jackson (presumably) and new judge Mariah Carey on American Idol.
The 19-year-old "Lovebug" singer has confirmed reports that he's being eyed to join the judging panel on the hit singing competition Saturday, tweeting to fans:
The rumors are true... I am being considered to be a judge on American Idol, and it would be a dream come true if it happens. #nickonidolConsidering Jonas' older brothers Joe and Kevin have each landed TV deals of their own (The Choice and Married to Jonas respectively), it's no surprise that FOX is eyeing the youngest member of the Jonas Brothers pop group.

On July 23, the network confirmed that singing sensation Carey will appear on the show after inking a $18 million contract.
“As a singer, songwriter and producer, it’s going to be fun and rewarding to help find new talent and give back with American Idol,” she said. “I’m currently in the studio working on my new album and its first single, ‘Triumphant,’ which will be out early next month. I can’t wait to channel my creative energy as a part of this show, which is a massive global phenomenon.”
Celebuzz has reached out to FOX and is awaiting official comment.
