Sir Elton John holds no punches when slating fellow singer Madonna.

“She’s such a nightmare," John fumed to old friend Molly Meldrum in a recent interview. "Her career’s over...and she looks like a f***ing fairground stripper."

And the Material Girl bashing Lady Gaga has only added fuel to John's fire.

"She’s been so horrible to Gaga,” he said in defense of the singer, who is godmother to his son Zachary, conceived via surrogate and raised by he and longtime partner, David Furnish.

In the interview, John opens up like never before about the joys of fatherhood.

"There's my little boy," he beamed with pride as she shows snaps of Zachary on his iPad. "Daddy's very proud. Soon to be hitting your shores, the new Justin Bieber," he jokes.

And John chalks up becoming a father to fate. "We went to Ukraine, to an orphanage we funded for the AIDS foundation," he said. "And this little boy gravitated towards me and stayed with me for the whole of the press conference."

He continued, "They said to me during the press conference, 'You seem very enamored with this little boy. Would you love to adopt him?' And of course me and my big mouth went, 'Yes, I'd love to.' Not knowing that it would go straight around the world [that] Elton John wants to adopt a Ukrainian baby. Well, it was impossible for us to adopt him. I'm too old in Ukraine [and] we're a gay couple."

While they didn't become daddies to that child, the experience sparks something in John. "David and I sat down to Christmases ago and he said, 'What do you think about having our own child?'" John recalled. "And I went, well, you know I've always said no 'cause I've said I'm too selfish, too set in my ways, but that little boy was sent as a messenger to me to say, you know what, it's time for you. You can do this. And I said yes."

And after four decades of a chart-topping career, being a father tops it all. "I always say it's been the icing on the cake," he said. "We got this incredible 19-month-old boy who is...[my] light. I'm just obsessed with him. I love him so much."

Elton John has a point. Madonna could still be relevant if she didn't try so hard to do ... what she's already done before. It's funny how this have turned out: Elton used to be the one who was so full of himself - now it's Madonna's ego that's overly inflated

....Look, Elton John has a good reputation, but unfortunately he ruins it by mocking Madonna. They are from the same generation and maybe Elton John hates her but I think that right now Madonna is not the worst singer in the world. Why Elton John doesn't use his "power" to mock stupid Bieber, Nicki Minaj, One Erection *Direction etc.
