Miley Cyrus on Her Engagement Ring: 'I Had No Input'
Bride-to-be Miley Cyrus admits she had no say in the engagement ring given to her by her fiance, Liam Hemsworth.
"I had no input," she said of her 18-karat Neil Lane ring in the September issue of Marie Claire. "I saw it online at one point and thought it was really pretty."
"I just love that it's old and has a story," Cyrus, 19, continued. "And I'm happy because it doesn't look like anything else I wear."
Cyrus -- who confirmed her engagement to Hemsworth, 22, in June -- also tells Marie Claire she isn't focused on planning a wedding just yet. In fact, she says the couple wants to have a "a very long engagement."
"Life is too short not to be with the person you want to be with," she said. "I don't really care about the wedding or the piece of paper as much as I do the promise we've made to each other."
"Liam and I have a really good relationship," she continued. "Neither of us is super jealous. We know each other and would never do anything to hurt each other."
Earlier this year, Cyrus starred in the direct-to-DVD movie LOL, opposite Demi Moore. She was recently spotted visiting Hemsworth on the set of his new movie, Paranoia, in Philadelphia.
The new issue of Marie Clarie, which features Cyrus on the cover, hits newsstands on Aug. 14.
