Ellen Page Latest Victim of Celebrity Cyber Bullying: Get in on the Conversation With Jane Velez-Mitchell
Ellen Page is the latest celebrity to be the target of Twitter threats.
The Oscar-nominated actress reported receiving two death threats via Twitter, sparking an investigation by the Los Angeles police department
A crazed fan tweeted menacing messages such as "I'm going to murder Ellen Page. She's dead." and "Ellen Page if you continue to date Alexander [Skarsgard] I will K-1-L-L you in public in the next year ... Be it in a club, in a restaurant, or when you're signing autographs (sic)." (The latter refers to the Page's LA Kings outing with her The East co-star in June.)
The tweets, possibly sent from two accounts, have since been deleted. The LAPD has sought a search warrant for account-tracing information from Twitter and are also investigating threatening calls targeting the actress back in June.
