Miley Cyrus is a “hometown girl” who could end up with her wedding gown soiled and stained in mud when she marries fiancé Liam Hemsworth, according to one of her closest confidantes.

The 19-year-old's cousin, Marilyn Cyrus, said that she expected the "Party in the U.S.A." star to wed the 22-year-old The Hunger Games star in 2013, though she was quick to add that no date has yet been set.

“I would say next year that they’ll get married,” said Marilyn, who is the first cousin of Cyrus' father Billy Ray.

“I’m sure it won’t happen overnight. There’s no rush. There’s no reason to.”

Cyrus – whose engagement was announced on June 6 – last week s said he has no reservations about her decision to tie the knot, but noted that she wasn't walking down the aisle soon.

"We want to have a long engagement," she told Marie Claire in the September issue cover story.

But according to Marilyn, Cyrus has long given thought to how she will say 'I Do.'

“Like all young girls, she had her wedding planned for a while," the relative said, in an exclusive interview. "It’s like a fairytale.”

But when it comes to her big day, Marilyn said the ex-Disney starlet will draw on her southern Tennessee roots.

“It could be a wedding where her dress ends up in the mud,” Marilyn added, with a hint of laughter.

“It’s just a Miley thing. She has these little quirks. Though she’s grown up, there’s still a lot of kid in her."

Nor will the nuptials be "very extravagant," either. "She’s a hometown girl," revealed Marilyn. “I think it’ll be close-knit family and friends."

Since the engagement was announced, both stars have battled criticism that they're too young to marry.

Adding to the debate, just a few months before Hemsworth presented his on-again, off-again partner with a one-of-a-kind vintage engagement ring -- three-and-a-half carats, designed by Neil Lane -- he vowed he was too young to marry.

“Marriage and kids are way in the future for me,” Hemsworth told Britian’s OK! Magazine two months before the proposal.

“I’m young. It’s not really on my mind at the moment — marriage, kids or anything.”

Said cousin Marilyn: “It’s the heart that matters and the heart wants what the heart wants. She’s very capable and I don’t foresee any problems. She can handle whatever comes along.”

Hemsworth and Cyrus met while filming The Last Song together in 2009 and after a break in 2011, the pair has been going strong ever since.

“We’re thrilled for her," said Marilyn. "We knew how in love they were. We love her very much and I’m sure we’ll love him too.”
