Jennifer Aniston Engaged to Justin Theroux
The former Friends star is set to wed her longtime beau following a marriage proposal on August 10. No date for the nuptials has been announced.
"Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage," Theroux’s rep told PEOPLE.
Aniston’s long-time publicist told Celebuzz late Sunday: “The statement is accurate.” When asked if the actress would be releasing her own statement about the engagement, the rep said: “(There will be) no other statement.”
Aniston, 43, and Theroux, 41, began dating in May 2011 after meeting on the set of Wanderlust.
In an interview with Good Morning America soon after the pair’s romance went public, when asked about her personal life, Aniston declared she was “very happy.”
“I'm extremely lucky and I'm extremely happy," she said.
This will be the second marriage for Aniston, who was previously married to actor Brad Pitt for five years before splitting in 2005.
The exciting news comes just days after it was reported in Star magazine that the pair had split.
“It’s once again just another fabrication to sell magazines and has no relationship to reality,” a rep said at the time.
Theroux, an actor/screenwriter, traveled to the North Carolina set of Aniston’s latest movie We’re the Millers on Wednesday.
